Senior Pharmacy Support Worker – Primary Care

About the role

The Senior Pharmacy Support Worker (Primary Care) will support safe and effective use of medicines across the community, working within a collaborative Primary Care Pharmacy Team. You will liaise with GP practices, community pharmacies and multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and promote independent, patient‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Support prescription management processes within GP practices, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Undertake non‑clinical medication reviews following agreed protocols and flag potential issues.
• Act as the main point of contact for pharmacy, GP practice and community pharmacy queries, triaging appropriately.
• Collect, analyse and present prescribing and clinical data to aid pharmacy team activities.
• Assist with medicine reconciliation and update patient records according to standard procedures.
• Coordinate pharmacist clinics and support delivery of pharmacotherapy services across practices.

Required profile

• Experience in an administrative or healthcare environment with exposure to medicines management.
• Strong understanding of medicines commonly prescribed in primary care.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis).
