Senior Practice Accountant – Accounts & Advisory

About the role

This senior practice accountant position sits within a high‑performing team that supports a broad portfolio of SME and group clients in London. You will work in a collaborative, forward‑thinking environment where you are trusted with varied responsibilities, client interaction and exposure to more complex work.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies across a diverse client base.
• Produce consolidated accounts for small and medium‑sized groups.
• Prepare corporation tax returns and support tax compliance work.
• Review VAT returns and assist with client queries.
• Generate management information to support business decision‑making.
• Manage your own workload, deadlines and planning effectively.
• Liaise directly with clients and build strong working relationships.
• Support junior team members with technical guidance.
• Assist with external audit queries and wider project work.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience in practice.
• ACA / ACCA qualified or actively working towards qualification.
• Strong technical grounding with a proactive approach to development.
• Confident user of Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with Xero (essential); exposure to IRIS, Sage 50, QuickBooks or Alpha (desirable).
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high accuracy.
• Strong communication skills with a client‑focused mindset.
