Senior Process Development Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Process Development Engineer to join our fast‑growing Process Development team working on MicroLED and Optical Interconnect technologies. The role splits roughly 60 % of time in a state‑of‑the‑art cleanroom and 40 % on data analysis, planning and presenting results to management.

Key responsibilities

• Define process architecture and develop process modules for MicroLED and optical compute devices.
• Work with tool owners to optimise pixel performance and implement process improvements.
• Identify tooling requirements, define recipe specifications and align with tool owners.
• Conduct risk assessments, participate in design reviews and drive innovation across the product line.
• Analyse data, plan experiments and communicate findings to cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• PhD in Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Materials Science or related field, or a bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant industry experience.
• Hands‑on experience developing and optimising III‑V (ideally III‑N) semiconductor device fabrication processes in a cleanroom.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics and experience with risk analysis and design review processes.

• Lithography (stepper, mask aligner)
• Etch techniques (RIE, ICP, wet etch)
• Thin‑film deposition (CVD, PVD, evaporation, ALD, IBD)
• Design of Experiments and statistical analysis
• CAM systems and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• Data analysis using Python or JMP
• LED and optical performance measurement (IV response, electroluminescence, EQE)
