Senior Process Engineer - Water Sector

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join a leading UK water company’s wastewater engineering team based in Brighton. The role combines design work for new treatment projects with hands‑on support for existing plant operations, offering a blend of technical challenge and field experience.

Key responsibilities

• Produce process calculations, control philosophies, flow diagrams, specifications and P&IDs for wastewater projects.
• Develop compliance, commissioning and TOTEX efficiency plans.
• Lead innovative process solutions that reduce total operating costs.
• Support site operations by optimising performance, troubleshooting plants and assisting commissioning activities.
• Analyse plant data to evaluate asset performance and recommend improvements.
• Mentor junior process engineers and share best practices.

Required profile

• MEng/BEng/BSc in Chemical Engineering or related discipline; Chartered status desirable.
• Approximately 6 years of experience delivering wastewater process design and site support for UK water utilities or consultancies.
• Proven track record of delivering projects from concept through commissioning.
• Strong analytical mindset and up‑to‑date knowledge of industry innovations.
