Senior Programme Manager – BOLD Lab

About the role
We are seeking a Senior Programme Manager to help establish the British Open-ended Learning and Discovery (BOLD) Lab, a new AI research initiative at the University of Oxford. Working closely with the Principal Investigator, academic leadership, professional services, funders and external partners, you will build the operational foundations needed for long‑term scientific excellence, innovation and talent development.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the operational, financial and organisational management of the multi‑institutional BOLD Lab programme.
- Design and implement structures, processes and partnerships to support research and doctoral training.
- Manage budgets, contracts and reporting for UKRI funding and additional investment streams.
- Coordinate with Oxford, UCL and Imperial teams to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Oversee risk management, compliance and governance across the programme.
Required profile
- Degree‑level education or equivalent experience with strong intellectual, numerical and analytical abilities.
- Proven experience working at a strategic level in a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment.
- Demonstrated capability to manage change and drive organisational development.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
