Senior Project Manager - 12 month FTC

About the role

As a Senior Project Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, you will lead the delivery of complex transport projects for RDG, working closely with internal teams, external suppliers and key public‑sector stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and on budget while managing risks and dependencies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, set milestones and monitor progress against deadlines.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and manage dependencies.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including the Department for Transport, Transport for London, Network Rail and train operating companies.
• Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating multiple work streams.
• Control project budget, cost and resource scheduling.
• Report performance using appropriate tools and manage changes to scope, schedule or budget.
• Ensure delivery of project outcomes and benefits in line with the RDG Project Delivery Framework.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or equivalent, delivering complex technical projects.
• Experience managing third‑party suppliers and coordinating with internal functions such as QA and service delivery.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycles, benefits management and change control.
• Ability to work with public‑sector organisations and transport industry stakeholders.
