Senior Project Manager – Outsourcing & Transformation (Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a high‑profile outsourcing, offshoring and transformation programme for Aviva. The role will be based flexibly across Norwich, London or remotely, with a hybrid working model (50 % onsite). It is a six‑month contract supporting an 18‑month strategic initiative.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end transition delivery across multiple markets and functions into offshore captive centres and outsourced partners.
• Establish and maintain programme governance frameworks, decision forums and reporting structures.
• Develop detailed transition plans covering milestones, resources, risks, dependencies and delivery governance.
• Oversee sourcing initiatives, outsourcing programmes and contract renegotiations in BPO and ITO environments.
• Monitor progress, manage issues, risks and escalations, and drive change‑control and communication processes.
• Track budgets, benefits realisation and value delivery, ensuring operational readiness and knowledge transfer.
• Prepare executive‑level reporting and governance packs for senior leadership and ExCo audiences.
• Coordinate delivery partners, consultants and internal stakeholders to keep objectives aligned.

Required profile

• Extensive senior project/programme management experience within financial services or insurance.
• Proven delivery of complex outsourcing and offshoring transformation programmes.
• Strong governance, controls, risk management and delivery assurance background.
• Experience managing transition programmes across multiple functions and geographies.
• Executive stakeholder management and influencing capability.
• Commercial awareness of sourcing, vendor governance and contract oversight.
