About the role

Springer Nature is seeking a Senior Publisher to lead a portfolio of open‑access life‑science journals within the BMC Academic Journals group, focusing on agriculture. The role is based in London or New York and follows a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual growth plans for a group of open‑access journals.
• Manage submission, publication and transfer targets, ensuring timely turnaround.
• Deliver an excellent author experience and engage Editors‑in‑Chief, Editorial Board Members and societies.
• Identify business‑development opportunities and drive financial performance of the portfolio.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support journal success.

Required profile

• Proven experience in scientific publishing, preferably with open‑access titles.
• Strong understanding of the life‑science and agriculture research landscape.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑changing environment.
