Senior Quantity Surveyor – Highways Infrastructure Project

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of a flagship £15m highways improvement scheme in Bristol. The role will be based in Bristol with a hybrid working model, supporting the delivery of a high‑profile civil engineering project that will reshape a key transport corridor.

Key responsibilities

• Take full commercial ownership of the project from procurement through to final account.
• Lead cost reporting, forecasting and financial performance reviews.
• Procure, administer and manage sub‑contracts under NEC contracts.
• Manage change control, variations and compensation events.
• Prepare and agree client applications, valuations and final accounts.
• Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and development to junior commercial team members.
• Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply‑chain partners.

Required profile

• Proven experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level on highways, civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, preferably with NEC forms of contract.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
