Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading fit‑out and refurbishment contractor. You will take commercial responsibility for multiple projects from pre‑construction through to final account, ensuring profitability and strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial performance of several refurbishment and fit‑out projects.
• Prepare, submit and agree interim valuations and final accounts.
• Produce accurate monthly cost reports, CVRs and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Procure subcontract packages and negotiate favourable commercial terms.
• Administer contract changes, capture and value all variations.
• Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Provide commercial support to operational teams throughout delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain.
• Support value‑engineering initiatives to maximise profitability.
• Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team as required.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Background with a main contractor, preferably on refurbishment or fit‑out projects.
• Strong knowledge of JCT forms of contract.
• Proven track record managing projects from procurement to final account.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
