Senior Regulatory Lawyer – Fitness to Practise (London/Hybrid)

About the role

This senior position provides expert legal advice on complex, high‑risk regulatory matters within a respected fitness‑to‑practice organisation. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on case management, supporting both internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Act as senior legal adviser on complex, sensitive regulatory investigations and hearings.
• Oversee the quality, compliance and performance of external legal providers, using data to drive case progression and resource planning.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on governance, quality assurance, policy development and organisational strategy.
• Deputise for senior leadership when required, contributing to broader strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with at least 5 years of experience in fitness‑to‑practice matters.
• Strong technical legal knowledge and sound judgement in regulatory investigations and proceedings.
• Proven leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience managing external legal providers.
