Senior RF Engineer

About the role

MDA Space is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join its UK team, developing satellite telecommunications payloads for a range of orbits. You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering group to turn ambitious space missions into reality.

Key responsibilities

• Design, simulate and test RF systems and circuits for satellite communication payloads.
• Support link‑budget analysis and perform detailed circuit design, including schematic capture, component selection and EM simulation.
• Conduct engineering analyses such as derating, worst‑case, reliability, radiation, EMI/EMC, FMECA and power budgeting.
• Lead in‑house and third‑party PCB layout teams.
• Deliver prototype and production‑quality manufacturing packages.

Required profile

• 10+ years of RF engineering experience in space or another high‑reliability sector.
• Knowledge of LEO and GEO communications payloads.
• Hands‑on experience with circuit and PCB design and RF simulation tools.
• Familiarity with high‑reliability design, spacecraft link budgets, signal integrity, radiation effects and mitigation, and EMI/EMC standards.
