Senior Salesforce Business Analyst – AI Innovation

About the role
Join the AI Innovation team within Digital Business Solutions to shape AI‑enabled capabilities across Elsevier's Salesforce ecosystem. You will partner with business units and technology teams to discover, scope and deliver AI‑driven opportunities that improve sales efficiency, data unification and customer experience.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and prioritize AI agent, automation and data‑unification use cases that reduce cost or friction for sales teams.
- Document current‑state processes and design future‑state workflows that incorporate Salesforce Agentforce, Data Cloud (Data 360) and MCP integrations.
- Gather business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for AI agent actions, guardrails and human‑in‑the‑loop checkpoints.
- Assess data readiness (quality, identity resolution, harmonisation) together with data‑engineering teams.
- Collaborate with Salesforce, data‑engineering and AI/ML engineers to translate requirements into detailed user stories for development and QA.
Required profile
- Proven experience in process modelling (BPMN), eliciting requirements and writing clear user stories.
- Hands‑on experience with Salesforce (Sales Cloud / Service Cloud) and strong interest in Agentforce and Data Cloud.
- Solid understanding of data architecture fundamentals needed to ground AI agents on trustworthy data.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex AI concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
Required skills
- Salesforce platform (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Agentforce, Data Cloud)
- AI/agentic concepts: prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation, tool/function calling, Model Context Protocol (MCP)
- Data architecture basics: data unification, identity resolution, data quality
- Agile delivery frameworks (Agile, Scrum, Kanban)
- Collaboration tools: Jira, Confluence, Slack, Microsoft Office, Teams
- Basic SQL or Python for data exploration
