Senior Scrub Nurse / Theatre Practitioner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrub Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join a high‑performing surgical team in Maidstone. The position offers a structured days‑only rota with no night or Sunday work, allowing an excellent work‑life balance while supporting orthopaedic and general surgery procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high‑quality peri‑operative care as part of the theatre team.
• Scrub for a variety of orthopaedic and general surgical procedures.
• Assist the Theatre Manager with day‑to‑day department operations.
• Mentor and support junior staff and students.
• Maintain compliance with clinical governance, infection control, and health & safety standards.
• Collaborate closely with consultants, anaesthetists and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with current NMC or HCPC registration.
• Significant scrub experience in orthopaedic and/or general surgery.
• Previous experience in a senior or leadership capacity is desirable.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety.
