Senior Software Engineer Full Stack

About the role

Appcast Enterprise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join a high‑impact programme for a central government customer. Based in Farnborough with flexible remote options, you will help sustain existing systems and deliver new capabilities that form part of critical national infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship production‑ready software across backend and frontend layers.
• Build and maintain Java‑based REST APIs and modern single‑page applications using React and TypeScript.
• Make technical decisions within your scope, following architectural guidance and escalating broader issues.
• Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration tests.
• Own the build and deployment pipeline for your changes and mentor peers on pipeline best practices.
• Collaborate with architects, testers and other engineers to ensure thorough verification before release.

Required profile

• Several years of experience delivering full‑stack solutions in an agile environment.
• Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and mentor junior team members.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and code quality standards.
