Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Cambridge Spark is creating a new product engineering capability focused on outcomes rather than feature backlogs. As a Senior Software Engineer you will be a founding member of the Learner Experience pod, shaping the quality, usability and impact of EDUKATE.ai for learners.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery within the Learner Experience pod, from discovery to production, iteration and outcome measurement.
• Collaborate directly with curriculum, operations and delivery stakeholders to uncover root problems.
• Co‑design solutions, contribute to proposals, decision records and discovery conversations.
• Apply an AI‑first approach, using AI tooling for prototyping, agentic coding and accelerating delivery.
• Maintain high engineering standards: test‑driven development, rigorous code reviews and a strong commitment to quality.
• Coach less experienced engineers, sharing best practices in product‑focused engineering.
• Help evolve engineering practices as the pod model matures.

Required profile

• Full‑stack capability (or strong expertise in one layer with competence in the other).
• Comfort owning the full delivery lifecycle – problem framing, design, production and iteration.
• Strong engineering fundamentals, especially TDD and code‑review discipline.
• Active engagement with AI‑assisted development tools.
• Ability to quickly absorb new, complex domains such as ed‑tech or regulated industries.
• Proven experience working directly with non‑technical stakeholders.
