Senior Solutions Engineer

About the role

Andela is building a modern Sales Engineering function that supports its three main offerings: Talent Solutions, AI Solutions and Learning & Assessment Solutions. As a Senior Solutions Engineer you act as a technical partner to customers, Sales and Delivery, leading discovery, translating ambiguous business needs into technical and delivery requirements, shaping solutions across the portfolio and helping ensure what is sold can be delivered. The role contributes to the development of technical qualification, AI-assisted assessment, solution design, demonstrations and sales tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and qualification with business and technical stakeholders to understand objectives, environments, constraints, capabilities and desired outcomes.
• Shape customer solutions with recommendations on architecture, scope, delivery model, team structure, technical requirements, timelines, risks and dependencies.
• Work across the full portfolio, choosing the right mix of Talent, AI and Learning & Assessment Solutions.
• Bring technical depth to the sales process: architecture discussions, presentations, demonstrations, workshops, prototypes, proposals and RFPs.
• Partner with Delivery and specialist teams to validate approaches before commitments are made.
• Contribute to Sales Engineering technology and methodology, including technical assessments, AI-assisted qualification, discovery frameworks, demonstrations, internal tooling and automation.
• Turn field experience into reusable playbooks, technical content, solution patterns and improved sales-to-delivery processes.
• Share customer insights to improve offerings, technology and go-to-market approach.

Required profile

• 6+ years of relevant experience, including Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Solution Architecture, technical consulting, professional services, engineering leadership or another customer-facing technical role.
• Ability to lead technical discovery independently and turn ambiguous business problems into practical solutions.
• Experience evaluating architecture, trade-offs, dependencies, risks and delivery considerations.
• Strong customer-facing communication and storytelling, able to engage senior business stakeholders and highly technical audiences.
• Cross-functional experience with Sales, Delivery, Product, Engineering or similar teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Fluency in modern software development, cloud architecture, data platforms, APIs and AI-enabled systems.
• Familiarity with modern AI technologies such as generative AI, LLM-based applications, agents, retrieval systems and AI-assisted software development.
• Comfort experimenting with technical tools, APIs, automation, prototypes and AI-enabled workflows.
• Managed services, technical assessments, training/enablement, application modernization, data engineering or enterprise technology solutions are a plus.
