Senior Staff Accountant

About the role

Concept Accounting & Advisory is a Kitchener‑Waterloo CPA and fractional‑CFO firm that provides a full finance function for owner‑managed businesses across Canada. As a Senior Staff Accountant you will own full‑cycle accounting and month‑end close for a portfolio of clients, working in a modern, automation‑first tech stack.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date books and complete month‑end and year‑end close for assigned clients
• Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and balance‑sheet accounts
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and adjustments
• Manage AP/AR and maintain fixed‑asset schedules
• Prepare financial statements and management reports
• Process payroll and assist with ROEs, T4s, T4As, WSIB, and EHT filings
• Prepare and file GST/HST and other statutory filings
• Communicate directly with clients to resolve queries professionally
• Help improve and document workflows as the firm scales

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of full‑cycle accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Strong Canadian accounting, payroll, and HST/sales‑tax compliance knowledge
• QuickBooks Online proficiency required
• CPB designation, or an accounting diploma/degree
• Excellent written and verbal communication
