Senior Structural Analysis Engineer

About the role

MDA Space is seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join its UK team in Stevenage, Harwell or Manchester. You will apply advanced structural analysis techniques to support satellite, robotics and geointelligence projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct static, dynamic and thermo‑elastic analyses using NX/Nastran and other FEA tools.
• Size components, propose design modifications and guide optimal designs.
• Develop test predictions for static and dynamic testing programmes.
• Communicate design recommendations to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Prepare, review and present detailed analysis findings, conclusions and recommendations.
• Document all analysis work to ensure traceability and reproducibility.
• Perform peer reviews of team members’ analysis work.
• When acting as Mechanical Project Team Lead, deliver mechanical work packages and coordinate thermal, structural and design engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural dynamics (modal, sine, random), static and thermo‑elastic analyses.
• Proficiency with FEA software such as NASTRAN and Femap, preferably within NX.
