Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our growing technology business in Bournemouth. In this role you will lead both strategic and operational activities, ensuring that customer requirements are captured and translated into functional solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and manage the team’s strategic and operational duties, monitoring progress against targets.
• Conduct team appraisals and meetings to support development and growth.
• Capture and record customer requirements to align new products with market needs.
• Produce functional requirements that reflect proposed solutions and operational needs.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to obtain customer agreement on specifications.
• Review documentation from internal teams for clarity and completeness.
• Provide system guidance to internal stakeholders and support process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree‑educated or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline.
• Excellent knowledge of systems engineering practices, processes, methods and tools.
• Strong IT background covering both hardware and software products.
• Familiarity with the complete software development lifecycle.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven team‑management experience.
