Senior Technical Account Manager / Virtual CIO

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Account Manager / Virtual CIO to join a leading Managed Service Provider. This hybrid role combines strategic technology advisory with senior stakeholder relationship management, helping organisations align IT investments with business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of strategic client relationships and act as a trusted technology advisor.
• Lead structured technology reviews and develop clear, practical roadmaps.
• Translate client business plans into technology strategies and budget recommendations.
• Identify risks, improvement opportunities and future project requirements.
• Review client environments against standards and best practices.
• Support and coach colleagues involved in client planning and technology alignment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior‑level client engagement within a Managed Services or technology consultancy environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to discuss technology in business terms.
• Excellent communication skills with senior decision‑makers (MDs, Finance Directors, IT leaders).
• Ability to influence recommendations and challenge technical proposals.
