Senior Technical Specialist – Cyber Underwriting & AI Risk

About the role

This position sits within a leading UK regulatory organisation and supports its specialist insurance risk function. You will help shape the future of cyber insurance, cyber underwriting risk and AI‑related insurance risk across the UK market.

Key responsibilities

• Provide subject‑matter expertise on cyber underwriting, cyber accumulation and catastrophe exposures.
• Review and influence risk frameworks, exposure data, aggregation controls and management information.
• Contribute to thematic reviews, horizon‑scanning activities and technical projects related to cyber and AI risk.
• Collaborate with insurers, reinsurers, brokers and MGAs to develop industry‑wide views on cyber risk.
• Influence and lead technical discussions without direct line‑management responsibilities.

Required profile

• Significant experience in the insurance market, particularly in cyber underwriting, cyber insurance or exposure management.
• Strong understanding of accumulation, aggregation and reinsurance structures.
• Experience assessing insurance portfolios and risk frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to analyse complex technical issues.
