Senior Test Engineer - Platform Quality Strategy
Employeur non precise · London
Job description
About the role
io.tt owns the testing of its platform: the strategy, the stack and the quality bar. You will decide where testing effort goes, write the frameworks that enforce it and be the person product, design and engineering turn to when they want to know whether something is ready to ship. The role is hybrid, with regular time in the central London (E1) office, and requires the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not offered.
Key responsibilities
- Define the test strategy: what quality means, where the real risks lie and where testing effort should go
- Build and maintain cross-service end-to-end and integration suites (Playwright or similar) that gate CI
- Set the quality bar with product, design and engineering and hold it when deadlines are tight
- Protect backward compatibility so published customer experiences keep working as features and schemas change
- Test experiences that brands configure themselves, using contract, model-based and property-based testing
- Validate analytics and data across PostgreSQL and MongoDB, from pipeline integrity to aggregation accuracy
- Own visual regression, cross-browser and cross-device testing, and embed WCAG accessibility checks in the pipeline
- Use AI-assisted tools to generate tests, then review and harden them
Required profile
- 5+ years in test engineering on web-based SaaS, including time owning the test strategy
- Risk-based approach to testing, prioritising the right tests over the number of tests
- Experience owning quality across teams and setting a quality bar
- Experience with contract, model-based or property-based testing, data validation, visual regression, accessibility testing, or a background in CMS, analytics or other configuration-heavy SaaS products
Required skills
- Strong, hands-on TypeScript, writing test code to the same standard as production code
- Ability to read a Node or Bun backend to find what to test
- Building E2E and integration frameworks from scratch and running them in CI
What we offer
- Hybrid work with one week a year working from anywhere on UK hours
- 20 days' holiday plus a festive shutdown with an extra day for each year of service (up to 5)
- Private medical insurance with Vitality after probation, a company pension and sick pay
- Cycle to work scheme, breakfast, drinks and snacks in the office, team events, a dog-friendly policy and a casual dress code
To apply, send your CV and a few lines on a test framework or quality strategy you've built and what you'd change about it now to the careers team.
