Senior Trusts, Tax & Estate Planning Solicitor

About the role

Our client is seeking a senior Trusts, Tax & Estate Planning Solicitor to join a highly regarded Private Client team. The role involves advising high‑net‑worth individuals, families and trustees on complex estate planning and wealth preservation matters, while contributing to the growth of the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide estate and succession planning advice to high‑net‑worth clients.
• Draft and advise on trusts, including lifetime structures, declarations of trust and deeds of variation.
• Act as professional trustee and counsel trustees on duties and obligations.
• Advise on inheritance tax (IHT), capital gains tax (CGT) and broader wealth preservation strategies.
• Collaborate with accountants, tax advisers and financial planners.
• Manage complex trust administration and estate matters.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, referrers and professional contacts.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional obligations.
• Support business development initiatives for the department.

Required profile

• 10+ years post‑qualification experience in trusts, tax and estate planning.
• STEP qualification preferred.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong client‑focused communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience managing high‑net‑worth client relationships.
• Commercial awareness and proactive business development approach.
