Senior/Principal Cable Route Engineer

About the role

This senior position leads offshore cable routing for large‑scale renewable, interconnection and telecommunications projects. Based in Glasgow, you will join a multinational tier‑one contractor’s marine geoscience team, working alongside geophysicists, geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists and geomorphologists.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Technical Lead for offshore cable routing scopes, delivering GIS‑based route analysis.
• Produce Cable Burial Risk Assessments (CBRA) and Depth of Lowering studies.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of new routing methodologies.
• Support bid preparation, business development activities and client presentations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to integrate geotechnical and geospatial data.

Required profile

• Strong academic background in geoscience, GIS, subsea engineering or related fields.
• Proven industry experience in offshore cable routing and risk assessment.
• Hands‑on experience analysing geotechnical and geospatial datasets.
• Ability to work proactively within collaborative project environments.
