Service Charge Accountant – Commercial Portfolio

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Service Charge Accountant to manage a commercial portfolio of service charge accounts. You will be responsible for preparing accurate accounts, liaising with property managers, clients and tenants, and ensuring deadlines are met.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a commercial portfolio of service charge accounts from start to finish.
• Prepare annual service charge accounts in line with lease requirements and accounting standards.
• Reconcile service charge income and expenditure.
• Produce budgets, forecasts and financial reports.
• Respond to client, leaseholder and tenant queries.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and support the finance team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Service Charge Accounting, managing your own portfolio.
• Solid understanding of service charge accounting principles and lease obligations.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
• Professional, customer‑focused communication skills.
• Proactive attitude and desire to contribute to a successful team.

• Salary: £35,000 per annum.
• Working hours: Monday‑Friday, 9am‑6pm, office based.
