Service Charge Analyst (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Service Charge Analyst to join a respected Housing Association in Kent. The role will be hybrid, with three days on‑site, and will focus on year‑end accounts, service charge reconciliation, and the setting of annual rent and service charges.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile annual service charge budgets, estimates and year‑end accounts in line with legislation and lease requirements.
• Lead annual rent and service charge reviews, issuing statutory notices within required timescales.
• Calculate and review service charges across a mixed‑tenure portfolio, including leaseholders, shared owners, tenants and private homeowners.
• Investigate variances, analyse large data sets and provide insight to support decision‑making.
• Review managing agent accounts, invoices and statements to ensure costs are accurate and fully recoverable.
• Support external and internal audit requirements by producing accurate records and documentation.
• Respond to customer, local authority and stakeholder queries during review and hyper‑care periods.
• Prepare rent and service charge budgets for new developments, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain data integrity across housing management and finance systems.
• Contribute to process improvements, policy reviews and continuous enhancement of practices.

Required profile

• Previous experience within a Housing Association or social housing organisation.
• Proven ability to calculate, set and reconcile service charges across multiple tenure types.
• Strong knowledge of service charge legislation, compliance requirements and apportionment methodologies.
• Experience supporting year‑end accounts and service charge reconciliations.
• Familiarity working with leaseholders, shared owners, freeholders and private homeowners.
