Service Engineer – Fire & Security (Glasgow)

About the role

We are seeking a Service Engineer with a fire and security background to join a leading energy and technical services business. The role is based in Glasgow, offers a local patch with no overnight stays, and provides the opportunity to work on planned preventative maintenance and reactive projects across a variety of sites.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire and security systems at multiple Glasgow sites.
• Respond to on‑call reactive work one day in every eight, with standby bonus and 1.5× door‑to‑door pay.
• Perform optional overtime on weekdays and weekends to increase earnings.
• Maintain and configure CCTV, fire alarm, BMS, access control and intruder detection systems.
• Document service activities and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Experience as a Service Engineer or Technician in the fire and/or security industry.
• Willingness to work a 39‑hour week (8 am‑5 pm, early finish on Fridays).
• Ability to travel locally across Glasgow and surrounding areas.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
