Service Manager - Homelessness Service

About the role

An established charity in Shepton Mallet is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead its homelessness and supported‑housing services. You will provide operational leadership, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred support for people experiencing homelessness and social exclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and support a dedicated team, delivering regular supervision, coaching and performance management.
• Oversee day‑to‑day delivery of homelessness and supported‑housing services, maintaining high standards and meeting contractual and safeguarding requirements.
• Monitor performance against KPIs, budgets and quality standards, producing required reports.
• Promote a trauma‑informed, person‑centred approach that empowers service users.
• Build and maintain partnerships with commissioners, local authorities and external agencies.
• Manage service budgets, compliance and risk, and participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.

Required profile

• Previous management experience in homelessness, supported housing, social care or a similar service.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Experience handling operational performance, budgets and contractual targets.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management and trauma‑informed practice.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
