Service Manager – Material Handling Equipment

About the role

We are seeking a Service Manager to lead a team of Service Engineers in Southampton, overseeing the maintenance and repair of forklift, plant and material handling equipment. This full‑time, hybrid position offers a clear progression path within a leading UK access‑equipment dealership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a small team of Service Engineers delivering on‑site support for a local patch.
• Coordinate service schedules for forklift, plant and material handling equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customers in the assigned region.

Required profile

• Proven experience in service management within plant, forklift or material handling environments.
• Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Based locally in Southampton or surrounding areas (Portsmouth, Winchester, etc.).
