Sessional Lecturer – Pottery

About the role
The School of Adult and Community Education at Merton College is looking for a skilled Sessional Lecturer to deliver non‑accredited pottery courses for adult learners. The successful candidate will join a supportive, inclusive environment and help participants develop creativity, confidence and technical ability.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver pottery lessons for learners of varying abilities, focusing on hand‑building and wheel‑throwing techniques.
- Create a safe workshop environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development of course materials and curriculum.
Required profile
- Teaching qualification and proven experience teaching adult learners.
- Academic or vocational qualifications in pottery or ceramics.
- Strong knowledge of hand‑building and throwing techniques.
- Understanding of health and safety standards in a pottery workshop.
