SHEQ Advisor – Health, Safety & Quality Compliance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to lead health, safety, environmental and quality compliance across multiple operational sites for a well‑established engineering services business. You will work on‑site, supporting engineers and managers, and help maintain high standards while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site audits and inspections.
• Manage and maintain ISO accreditations and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
• Support investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Review risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Provide practical SHEQ advice to operational teams and managers.
• Monitor legislation and ensure business compliance.
• Support internal and external audits and maintain SHEQ documentation.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the organisation.
• Travel occasionally to regional depots and customer sites.

Required profile

• NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).
• Strong auditing experience, preferably with ISO and/or ISO 45001.
• Experience managing or supporting accreditation and compliance systems.
• Ability to produce or review Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Background in engineering, manufacturing, utilities, facilities management or a fast‑paced operational environment.
