Site Assistant – Aylesbury

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Site Assistant to join an outstanding specialist academy in Aylesbury. The role starts in September 2026 on a 12‑week temp‑to‑perm basis, providing essential support to keep the school environment safe, secure and well‑maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out day‑to‑day maintenance and minor repairs across the school site.
• Open and lock the premises, ensuring security at all times.
• Complete routine health and safety checks and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with room layouts, furniture movement and support school events.
• Monitor contractors and support planned maintenance works.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation around the grounds.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues as they arise.
• Support the wider school team with general site duties.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Site Assistant, Caretaker, Premises Officer or Facilities Assistant (desirable).
• Good DIY and practical maintenance skills.
• Understanding of health and safety within a working environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Positive, flexible and hardworking attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
