Site General Manager – UK Managing Director Designate

About the role

Kanthal, the global leader in industrial heating technology, is seeking an experienced manufacturing executive to take overall responsibility for its Perth Production Unit. As the UK Managing Director designate, you will steer the site’s strategic direction while maintaining hands‑on oversight of day‑to‑day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and embed a safety‑first, operational‑excellence culture across the site.
• Drive manufacturing performance, productivity, efficiency and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Develop, support and mentor the Senior Management Team and broader workforce.
• Ensure the site meets operational, quality, customer and financial targets.
• Shape long‑term site strategy, investment plans and capability development.
• Promote employee engagement, succession planning and organisational capability.
• Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory and company standards.
• Act as Managing Director designate / Legal Entity Representative for the UK operation where delegated.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial environments with complex production processes.
• Proven track record of delivering operational improvement, business performance and organisational development.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence across a global organisation.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internally and with customers.
