Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Paddle, you will drive the product and engineering department forward by ensuring reliability across the Paddle platform and enabling engineers to work more efficiently. The SRE team focuses on infrastructure, reliability standards, and practices, acting as a glue between product teams and promoting DevOps practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain tools that maximise engineering efficiency, including automation of deployment infrastructure and database upgrades.
• Design, test and maintain disaster recovery processes and associated tooling.
• Handle production incidents, author blameless post‑mortems and enrich operational playbooks.
• Monitor, alert and track SLOs, performing performance investigations and tuning across services and AWS resources.
• Own cost‑optimisation workstreams such as right‑sizing, autoscaling policies and waste identification across ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora and SQS.

Required profile

• Software development background with experience shipping and operating production services, strong fundamentals in testing, CI/CD and debugging.
• Hands‑on experience across the AWS ecosystem and collaboration with AWS Solution Architects.
• Curiosity about AI and its impact on software development.
• Collaborative, security‑minded and detail‑oriented attitude suited to a fast‑paced environment.
