Software Engineer – Go, Java, Python (Mid‑Senior)

About the role

Inspire People is seeking a mid‑senior Software Engineer to join its rapidly growing engineering team in Farnborough. You will design and deliver secure, high‑performance digital solutions that support Defence and National Security missions, working across the full software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable backend services using Go, Java, Python or related languages.
• Build responsive user interfaces with JavaScript, TypeScript and React.
• Implement cloud services on AWS or Azure and manage infrastructure as code.
• Maintain version control with Git, create CI/CD pipelines and automated testing suites.
• Containerise applications using Docker and ensure reliable deployments.
• Participate in code reviews, write clean documentation, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms and data structures.
• Ability to discuss technology trade‑offs and integration of multi‑language systems.
• Comfortable interacting directly with stakeholders and delivering customer‑facing solutions.
