Solicitor / Associate – Property Disputes

About the role

Birketts LLP is seeking a Solicitor/Associate to join its Property Disputes team in Sevenoaks. You will work within the Dispute Resolution Division, supporting a diverse client base that includes private individuals, trusts, social landlords and corporate entities.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review tenancy agreements and occupational arrangements.
• Prepare, review and serve notices; advise on possession options under private rented sector legislation.
• Prepare pleadings, witness statements, settlement documents and instructions to counsel.
• Conduct legal research and produce concise advice notes for clients and senior team members.
• Stay up‑to‑date with legislative changes affecting the sector.
• Attend court hearings, mediations and negotiations as required.
• Manage a caseload of residential letting matters under supervision.
• Participate in business development activities and meet deadlines.
• Maintain accurate time‑costing, file management and compliance procedures.
• Provide proactive support and cover for team members.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or trainee with experience in residential letting matters.
• Ability to work under the supervision of experienced solicitors.
• Strong research, drafting and analytical skills.
• Commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of compliance.
