Solicitor – Healthcare Litigation

About the role

HF is seeking an enthusiastic solicitor with a focus on healthcare litigation to join its Leeds team. The successful candidate will be at NQ‑4 PQE level, bringing strong clinical negligence experience to support NHS bodies, public and private healthcare providers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑action investigations and draft detailed reports and client advice.
• Prepare and attend trials, mediations, and settlement meetings, including interviewing witnesses and drafting statements.
• Manage costs, multi‑party litigation, and ADR processes such as mediation and settlement negotiations.
• Represent clients at court hearings, CCMCs, and application hearings.
• Deliver client training, presentations, seminars and webinars.
• Participate in business development activities appropriate to the role.

Required profile

• Previous healthcare litigation experience, ideally from a panel firm, medical defence insurer or indemnifier; newly qualified candidates should have completed a seat in clinical negligence.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Capacity to work to tight deadlines, handle a varied workload and collaborate within a wider team.
