Specialist Clinical Pharmacist – Addictions

About the role
The Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (Addictions) will provide expert pharmaceutical advice, medicines governance, and direct clinical care to patients, particularly those at high risk from polypharmacy. The role supports the delivery of Medication Assisted Treatment standards and contributes to the development of HSCP pharmacy services in addiction care.
Key responsibilities
- Offer specialist pharmaceutical advice and medicines governance input.
- Provide direct clinical care to patients, including high‑risk polypharmacy cases.
- Assist with the implementation of Medication Assisted Treatment standards.
- Lead the development of HSCP pharmacy services within addiction services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
- Support service development and, where applicable, management initiatives.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent.
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Post‑graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy.
- Independent prescriber status.
- Experience in primary care and strong clinical skills.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
