Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Part‑time)

About the role

As a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) you will join the Child and Family Wellbeing Service in Warwickshire. Working within a defined locality, you will lead the Healthy Child Programme, building strong relationships with families and partner agencies to promote health, reduce inequalities and safeguard children.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the public health lead for a defined population, delivering the Universal Partnership Plus reach of the Healthy Child Programme.
• Assess health needs, identify risks and provide personalised, outcome‑focused interventions for children and families.
• Lead and support a skill‑mixed team, delegating tasks while maintaining oversight of care delivery and outcomes.
• Hold responsibility for children on child protection plans and ensure appropriate safeguarding actions.
• Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to coordinate services and promote integrated care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a current NMC pin.
• Experience in community health, health visiting or public health nursing.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and lead a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and continuous professional development.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the NHS Healthy Child Programme and child safeguarding procedures.
• Ability to assess health needs and develop tailored care plans.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building with families and partners.
