Specialist Hygiene Technician – Thetford

About the role

We are looking for a Specialist Hygiene Technician to join Rentokil’s Thetford branch, serving customers in Cambridge, Stevenage and surrounding areas. You will deliver a variety of hygiene and specialised cleaning services, working independently and managing your own schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Provide bio‑hazard, flood‑water damage, infection‑control, police and prison cell, sharps removal, trauma and crime‑scene cleaning.
• Carry out technical cleaning tasks such as factory cleans, high‑level work and silo cleaning.
• Work reactively in a fast‑paced environment, adapting to changing weekly priorities.
• Participate in an on‑call rota (typically twice a quarter) and respond to emergency requests.
• Offer professional advice to customers and maintain a high standard of service.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence held for more than two years with no more than six penalty points.
• Self‑motivated, reliable and proactive with excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work varying patterns and on‑call duties.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check where required.

Required skills

• Experience or training in bio‑hazard and specialised cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of health‑ and safety regulations related to hazardous environments.
