Specialist Occupational Therapist – Child & Adolescent Mental Health

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team at Woodside Health & Care Centre. You will work with young people up to 18 years old who experience mental health difficulties and neurodevelopmental challenges, delivering specialist OT interventions within a multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan and deliver occupational therapy interventions for children and young people with complex mental health and neurodevelopmental needs.
• Manage an autonomous caseload, ensuring evidence‑based care and positive outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies to develop holistic care plans.
• Contribute to diagnostic and formulation processes, including joint assessments and clinical decision‑making.
• Provide supervision and guidance to junior staff, support workers and students.
• Deliver training and education to families, carers and professionals.

Required profile

• HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Relevant OT experience that can be transferred to a mental health/paediatric setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with children, young people and families.
• Ability to work independently, manage a caseload and contribute to multidisciplinary decision‑making.
