Specialist Pharmacist Clinical Trials

About the role

University College London Hospitals is seeking a Specialist Pharmacist to join its Clinical Trials team. In this two-year fixed-term position you will support the transition of the Pharmacy Clinical Trials dispensary service to the Epic electronic health record system, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of investigational medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of Epic-generated dispensing labels, linking prescriptions directly to labels.
• Support pharmacy set-up and clinical trial amendment activities, including feasibility assessments and drug prescription design.
• Validate commercial trial budgets and author or review dispensary guides.
• Collaborate with senior pharmacists, technicians, and EHR analysts within a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide pharmacy input to clinical trials across all UCLH sites in line with Good Clinical Practice and relevant guidelines.

Required profile

• Qualified pharmacist with experience in clinical trial pharmacy services.
• Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and manage project timelines.
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and NHS pharmacy regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Epic or other electronic health record systems.
• Understanding of dispensing label creation and medication safety processes.
• Experience in clinical trial set-up, amendment, and budget validation.
