Specialist Pharmacist – Surgical & Aseptic Services

About the role
The Specialist Pharmacist will join the Pharmacy & Medicines Service at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, delivering clinical pharmacy services across a range of surgical specialties. This permanent, full‑time position offers the chance to shape service delivery while gaining leadership experience in aseptic services.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist clinical pharmacy support to General Surgery, Critical Care, Orthopaedics and Reproductive Medicine.
- Deputise for the Aseptic Services Manager, overseeing sterile preparation and related technical processes.
- Contribute to service innovation, staff leadership, education and training initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality patient care.
- Develop and maintain advanced pharmacist credentials.
Required profile
- Registered pharmacist with experience in surgical or critical‑care settings.
- Demonstrated interest in aseptic pharmacy services and leadership development.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and patient‑centred care.
