Specialist Physiotherapist (MSK Outpatients) – 1 WTE

About the role

The NHS Scotland Midlothian HSCP is seeking a Specialist Physiotherapist to deliver expert musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient services across three health centres. This full‑time position (1 WTE) offers the opportunity to work independently with a complex caseload and to lead a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, referral and discharge for patients referred to the MSK service.
• Supervise physiotherapists, assistant practitioners, clinical support workers and physiotherapy students.
• Deputise for the team lead in specialist clinical meetings.
• Develop and deliver training programmes for professionals and carers on therapy processes and patient management.

Required profile

• Qualified physiotherapist with specialist experience in musculoskeletal outpatient care.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex patient portfolio.
• Leadership experience supervising clinical staff and students.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and training delivery.
