About the role

The NHS Borders Community Nursing Team in the Berwickshire locality is seeking a Specialist Practitioner District Nurse (Band 6) to provide high‑quality nursing care and clinical leadership to a defined patient caseload.

Key responsibilities

Lead and line‑manage a District Nursing team, ensuring safe, person‑centred care.
Deliver nursing assessments, interventions and education to promote patient independence at home.
Prioritise workload effectively and manage time to meet patient needs.
Develop and support a flexible, patient‑focused nursing service through ongoing professional development.
Participate in a weekend rota as part of the service commitment.

Required profile

Proven experience in community or district nursing.
Specialist qualification in Community Nursing and a District Nursing qualification.
Strong time‑management and prioritisation abilities.
Commitment to continuous learning and team development.
