Specialty Doctor – High Support Inpatient Rehabilitation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Specialty Doctor to join our high‑support inpatient rehabilitation service for men at Cygnet Newton House. You will work as a practising psychiatrist within a multidisciplinary team, delivering comprehensive mental health care and supporting patients on their recovery journey.

Key responsibilities

• Provide routine medical and psychiatric support, including initial clerking and mental state examination of newly admitted patients.
• Assess, investigate, diagnose and treat in‑patients under Consultant supervision.
• Maintain communication with nursing staff, mental health professionals and external agencies.
• Participate in weekly ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Contribute to discharge planning and community rehabilitation pathways.

Required profile

• Fully qualified Specialty Doctor or Associate Specialist Doctor in Psychiatry.
• Experience in high‑support inpatient rehabilitation (Level 2) or similar settings.
• Registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and eligible to work in the UK.
• Ability to work autonomously while being supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist.
