Specialty Doctor – Oncology

About the role
The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor to join its Oncology Department. Working on the oncology ward and within the triage service, the post provides an opportunity to deliver high‑quality inpatient care and develop a focused career in cancer medicine.
Key responsibilities
- Provide continuity of care for in‑patients on the oncology ward.
- Rapidly review patients presenting to the Oncology Triage Unit with cancer‑related symptoms or treatment side‑effects.
- Collaborate with the Trust’s outreach oncology services to ensure seamless patient pathways.
- Work alongside FY3 doctors, registrars and consultants, participating in twice‑daily handovers and consultant‑led ward rounds.
- Liaise closely with ward nurses, the triage service and the Palliative Care Team.
Required profile
- Full GMC registration.
- MRCP or MRCGP (or equivalent) qualification.
- Relevant experience in oncology, primary care or a related specialty.
