Speech and Language Therapist – Therapeutic School (Essex)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Speech and Language Therapist to join a leading independent therapeutic school in Essex. The role offers a supportive, multidisciplinary environment where you will work directly with children and young people facing complex SEMH, trauma and communication challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence‑based Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions to children and young people with complex SEMH, trauma and speech/language needs.
• Manage a caseload of primary or secondary pupils, according to your specialism.
• Work alongside on‑site Occupational Therapists and therapeutic teaching staff to embed communication strategies into the curriculum.
• Contribute to EHCP reviews, set targets, track progress and provide staff training on speech and language frameworks.

Required profile

• Recognised Degree or Master’s in Speech and Language Therapy and current HCPC registration.
• RCSLT membership (highly desirable).
• Experience in an educational or specialist setting, with knowledge of ASD, DLD or SEMH.
• Full UK driving licence.
