Sports Specialist Teaching Assistant (Flexible)

About the role

We are looking for a Sports Specialist to work as a Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor in secondary schools across the Wirral. This flexible position offers part‑time or full‑time days, allowing you to gain classroom experience while using your sporting background.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑set work across a range of subjects, including PE.
• Manage classroom behaviour and keep pupils engaged.
• Maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
• Provide cover supervision and support teachers as needed.

Required profile

• Graduate in Sports Science, Coaching, Physical Education or related field.
• Experience working with children or young people (coaching, tutoring, youth work, etc.).
• Confident leader with strong communication and organisational skills.
• Considering teacher training or a future career in education.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and legal right to work in the UK.
• Two professional references.
